It has been a discouraging day overall. We found out that the shipping on the supplies back from Managua is going to be MUCH higher than expected.
We had asked about this in advance and had been assured that it would be very reasonable. It wipes out our cost savings, but at least the materials are of better quality than we find locally.
We will probably modify the design on the house to keep it in our budget. Prices on materials change on a daily basis and it is hard to keep a budget.
I am working every day on guitar and keyboard so we can work with the teams when we go out to the mission churches. Unfortunately, my only MIDI keyboard is a bit small, but it fits into my suitcase and plugs into my computer.
Kim enjoys the company of our housekeeper, Leticia. A housekeeper sounds like a luxury, but we could not exist without her help with manual laundry, shopping in the market, etc.
It will be nice when we get our other materials here. We are hoping to ship them out by the end of the month. We had customs issues that kept us from shipping them before we left.
