Tim had the opportunity to preach the morning service and the evening service on Sunday. The youth conducted the morning service and did the special music.
Tim preached on Exodus 3, about Moses and the burning bush. He taught the first half in the morning service and the second half in the evening service.
The great story of the first half of Exodus 3 is that God can take a place of desolation and turn it into the mountain of God, a holy place where God meets us and communicates with us.
Moses was haunted by his failures and his shortcomings and was tending sheep on the far side of the desert on Mount Horeb (Horeb literally means lonely, isolated, desolate). God turned that place into the mountain of God as the text states. When we slow down and listen and reverence God, he turns any place into a holy place.
