Things are continuing to progress on several fronts. The crew is making good progress on the house. The interior walls will be up to the top of the first floor by the end of the week.
The guys are working very diligently. Rainy season starts sometime in May and we need to have the roof on by that time so they can continue to work indoors during the rain.
The building inspector stopped by and told the foreman that we needed to list the house as a hurricane shelter because it was being built so strong. We are using Grade A steel, which we cannot even purchase in Bluefields. We have to go to Managua for it.
It will sure be nice to have the house finished so we can move ahead full speed with the ministry training.
Here Javier, our foreman is teaching Ralston how to play the guitar. He plays the guitar quite well and knows quite a few worship songs already.
Our goods are still in customs. The shipping line did not send the bill of lading and the customs officials will not let the materials out without that piece of paper. We worked on that all day today and the people in Miami assure us that they have taken care of it. We will know later today.
We are looking at purchasing a Kia diesel 4 wheel drive truck for about $4000. After our trip to the communities, we felt that it would be to our advantage to have a flatbed truck so we could hold outdoor meetings in the community.
It appears to be on good condition, but we have a diesel mechanic who will spend half a day tomorrow looking at it inside and out. They have a saying here that "nobody sells a healthy horse" so we need to check it out carefully.
