After a very long trip, our container load of materials arrived at our home last Thursday. To recap, Tim drove the stuff from Dallas to Miami and loaded the container on Feb 2nd. The container went from Miami to El Bluff Nicaragua Feb 7th to 12th. We went over the El Bluff with a barge and brought the materials back on Feb 21st.
We had very little damage and no theft of items from the container while it was in transit. Some of the crates were very heavy and the guys on the dock were great about lifting it.
We have completed the purchase of a smallflatbed diesel 4 wheel drive truck. It is in good shape and cost us just $4000. It will be good because we can put it on a barge and take it up the Pearl Lagoon area and drive around that area doing outdoor meetings. The mechanic who is working on it for us was surprised at how low the price was that we paid for it.
Our generator is a beast. We are probably going to permanently mount it at the house, when the house is completed, and get a smaller one to take on mission trips. This one is 300 lbs and produces 8000 watts of electricity which is perfect for the house, but is a little too heavy to carry around.
We challenged the teens at Zion Baptist Church to clean up the rocks on the field next to the church and put up a volleyball net. They did this and now we are looking for some lights so they can invite their friends to play volleyball at night.
Tim is spending quite a bit of his time studying and preparing teaching notes through the book of Acts, similar to the ones he has prepared in Romans, James, etc. He would like to create teaching outlines through most of the Bible if possible.
