The week preceding Easter Sunday is very different here in Nicaragua. Most of the people have the entire week off and everything is closed Thursday - Sunday.
You have to stock up on food and supplies before Thursday. You can still get stuff from the little corner stores, but the larger stores are closed.
We had our workers come over on Wednesday evening for a night of pizza and Dominoes. We brought our pizza recipe from the US and since we have a hard time finding pepperoni, we make it with BBQ chicken which is even better. It was a huge hit.
Tim spoke at the Friday afternoon service (Good Friday) and twice on Sunday. That required quite a bit of preparation as these were both brand new messages.
This week we will begin working again on the discipleship program and continue writing the teacher training program based on "The Seven Laws of the Teacher."
The guys are coming along well on the house. We hope to have all of the columns up this week and more of the forms in place. We hope to get the small rock for the concrete for the second floor this week as well.
Kim made a really nice Easter Dinner for us with ham, mashed potatoes and carrots. Miss Leticia made us a nice fruit stew with mangoes, plums, and other fruits I cannot identify. Javier, our foreman, and his wife brought by a shrimp cocktail that they had made and we enjoyed that as well.
