The great news for the week was the progress made by the discipleship groups. We sent this information out in a recent email as well.
Bruce – met with his group and had six guys. They are meeting on Monday afternoons, but also decided to meet on Friday evenings for a time of worship and praise.
Nancy – met with her group of six girls and they are going to be meeting on Thursday evenings. She mentioned that several of the girls in the group have not commited their lives to Christ and that is her prayer for them.
Yesenia – met with her group and they are meeting on Saturday mornings.
Halstead – had two guys in his group and they are working to add more. Their group discussed their expectations and they want to grow more mature in their faith.
Israel – their group also meets on Saturday mornings. They had six guys and they are all hungry to learn more. Israel is also learning much as he studies to lead this group.
Hazel – is leading a group of ladies in their 30’s and above. They had six people in their group, including one person that Hazel works with (who also brought another lady).
Audrey – is leading a group of young girls. She is looking to incorporate some activities into their discipleship groups that will cater to the interests of these young girls.
We have encouraged these leaders to use their freedom and creativity to cater to the needs and interests of their group, and they are already doing this. We are simply empowering them and it is working well.
We do not attend the discipleship group meetings ourselves because we do not want to overshadow the leaders. They really enjoy the freedom that we have given them and they are taking the responsibility to heart.
The house is coming along well. This is going to be a really nice ministry facility that will be here to train leaders for decades to come. It is sometimes hard to wait and we are spending a lot of our personal funds on it, but it is the best investment we could make.
