We need your help in purchasing ministry equipment and supplies for the upcoming year. Some items are quite small and others are large. Thank you to those who have already contributed.- TJM
We were able to get the entire second floor poured on Saturday before we left. The guys worked from 6 am until 4 pm and mixed up 170 batches of concrete.
They had estimated 100 to 120 batches of concrete, but we used a LOT more because we used a vibrator to settle the concrete and so we ended up with concrete that was a lot more dense with less air than normal Nicaraguan concrete.
We have a short four minute movie clip of the concrete making process that you can look at by clicking here. It is a large 10 meg file, so you will need a fast internet connection to download it.
The guys are working to get the garden ready for the next couple of weeks while they wait for the concrete on the second floor to cure. They are also going to be making cement blocks for the second floor of the house. The last batch of cement blocks we bought were of poor quality, so we are making our own.
We are currently in the United States. We flew from Bluefields to Managua on Sunday afternoon, then we left Managua at 7 am Monday morning and arrived in Dallas about 2:45 in the afternoon.
We stayed with Alan and Carolyn Weaver and their darling twins and had a small gathering with some people on Tuesday evening. it was good to see a few of our friends again.
Tim went to Home Depot and ordered 22 windows for the house in Nicaragua, which should be ready just before we leave. The Lord provided the funds for this and we are thankful for that.
We stayed in Dallas for about a day and a half and left this morning for NY and arrived in Rochester, NY at 5 pm this evening. We enjoyed a nice dinner with our parents at Cracker Barrel (almost forgot how good chicken fried steak was) and arrived in Elmira, NY this evening.
We are looking forward to seeing all our TX friends in church in another week or so. God bless you.
