It has been one of the busiest weeks we can remember. We have been scrambling to get the materials that we need to finish the construction on the house. The materials that we purchase in Nicaragua are often way more expensive and of poorer quality.
This ranges from small AC units to ceiling fans, to all the electrical stuff, to surge protection units. We have also purchased a large tile saw because we have 3600 square feet of tile to lay. We were blessed to find a lot of these materials at very good prices. We also bought 54 chairs from a supplier in Dallas that we dealt with a lot when we had our businesses. They were very good to us.
We have had a great time meeting with friends and supporters. People have been very generous in their support of this work. We spent about $3000 on Bibles and gospels of John and we received donations that more that covered that amount.
We were able to purchase a 1800 watt digital inverter generator that is portable. We also bought 12 outdoor type fluorescent lights that we will mount on plastic poles to put up for outdoor meetings. We now have all the equipment to help people hold open air meetings like the old "camp meetings" that used to be in the US.
We have emptied our storage units so we can sent most of it to Nicaragua. This was a job. It is hard to believe how much stuff we can accumulate
We can put all of this on a panga (speedboat) and take it up to the communities to hold outdoor meetings as well.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch . . . . (just had to say that), the guys have been working hard in our absence. We are blessed to have such a loyal group of workers.
They have the second floor walls over half up at this point. They have also been working on the back porch. As you can see from the pictures, the rainy season is starting to set in.
The good thing is that they can go downstairs and work on the first floor if that happens.
Our tentative schedule is as follows:
Sun PM - leave for Huntsville
Mon Evening - spend with Jason at his army base
Tuesday - drive to Johnson City TN to get the Bibles
Tues Evening - spend with Jason at his army base
Wed AM - leave for Miami
Thurs PM - arrive in Miami and unload truck
Fri PM - leave for Nicaragua
Please pray that we will have safe travels. Pray that we will be able to transport the dog. Airlines will not let dogs fly if the air temp is over 85 degrees and we are right at that point.
