Thank you to everyone for your contributions to God's church in Nicaragua. We are gratified and humbled by your generosity - TJM
It was so good seeing everyone and being able to share what God is doing in the work in Nicaragua. We were able to go to three different churches and were well received.
On this trip we purchased about $15,000 worth of building and ministry materials. We are purchasing the building materials out of our own funds and reserving the donations for actual ministry expenses.
Our travels have gone as follows.
Mon, June 23 - leave Dallas at 3:25 am and arrive in Huntsville, AL at about 3:30 PM. We were able to spend the evening (up until 8:30 pm with Jason, who is stationed in Huntsville).
Tues, June 24 - leave Huntsville at 6:25 am and drive to Johnson City TN to pick up Bibles. Arrive at Johnson City at noon and load Bibles and drive back to Huntsville. We rented a car for this trip.
We arrived back in Huntsville at 5:30 pm and were able to spend the evening again with Jason.
Wed, June 25 - Leave Huntsville at 8:00 am and drive to Kissimmee, FL and check into a fleabag motel at about 11 pm.
Thurs, June 26 - Leave Kissimmee at 7:30 am and drive to Hialeah, FL to the ship lines. Arrived at 12:30 and left at 8:30 pm.
Tim and one other person had to unload the truck and load the container all by themselves. It was hot and we were extremely tired when the job was done.
Fri, June 27 - Get up at 5:45 am and go refuel the truck before traffic hits (it is not easy to maneuver a large truck in and out of standard gas stations). Go to Bernuth lines to finish paperwork. Return truck and walk 2 miles back to hotel.
Our plans were to fly out of Miami and be back in Managua Friday evening, but it was too hot for the airlines to put the dog on the plane, so we are waiting in Ft. Lauderdale.
It is actually good to have this delay because it gives us a couple of days rest (at least) before we return. The past few days have been grueling (driving 2200 miles in 3.5 days and then spending 8 hours loading a container). |
