It has been a short week with the national independence day taking place on Sunday. Most businesses were closed Monday and Tuesday. Our guys had Monday off and worked Tuesday.
We hope you enjoyed the pictures and videos from the independence day parade. Someday we hope to have high speed internet so we can upload even better resolution videos, but then again, we only visit the internet cafe once or twice per week, so do we really need it? Not sure.
Kim and Jason went to Corn Island for a little side trip. Corn Island is very nice to visit, beautiful, but not commercialized. The picture on our magnet is from Corn Island. Pastor Eli graciously hosted them for a few days.
The progress on the house continues. Most of the guys are working on the upstairs walls. They will have the crown beam on at the end of next week. It is nice to see the rooms starting to take shape. We have pictures in the gallery with short explanations.
I am stil building cabinets, but had to take two days and rebuild the table saw. The table had warped and cracked and was driving me crazy. When you are building cabinets, you need square cuts!!
So . . . while I was repairing it, I made the table larger and stronger. "We can rebuild it, we can make it better". It is straighter than before, but not perfect.
The top was not milled right when it was new, but it works well for what we are doing now that it is repaired.
Maybe some day, I will totally weld a new table. The mechanics of the saw are good, so we shall see. I had a really nice contractor's saw in Dallas, but just do not have the room for it here.
The Bible study at the house continues to go well, as does the discipleship study on Wednesday evening.
At the house, we have been meeting in the shop area. We still have the supports in place from the pour of the second floor. We will remove them early next week.
We thank you as always for your prayers and gifts. Someone reminded me that we do not have a "contribute" button on the page.
If you would like to contribute, you can make a check out to LakePointe church in Rockwall, TX and put "Tim and Kim Mott - Nicaragua" in the memo line. We are using our own funds for the house and use donated funds strictly for ministry purposes.
God bless you,
Tim and Kim |
