We continue to move along on the building. We did not get the second floor walls finished this week, but we are hoping to have it done shortly.
We have used up all of our sand and will need to get another ten cubic meters this week.
With the walls reaching their finished height, the building is starting to look huge.
We are beginning to reach the end of our construction funds, but we have purchased almost all of the materials, so we are not in panic mode. Once the roof is on, we will complete the rest of the job on contract basis.
We will pay the guys on a contract basis to do the stucco work, then we will see what is left. Kim and I can do the tile, paint, electrical and carpentry work ourselves if needed. We will probably just keep a small crew to help us so we can make the most of our remaining funds.
We realize that the building looks only half finished, but the concrete work is 90% of the battle.
Once the shell is done, the paint and tile work should go fairly quickly and we don't need to paint and tile the 2nd floor right away.
Jason leaves us on Sunday. It is hard to believe that a month has gone by so quickly. He has enjoyed his time with us, but he is ready to get on to the next chapter of his life. He will fly to Managua on Sunday, then to Huntsville, AL on Monday, then to Germany on Wednesday, where he will be stationed for two years.
Youth in Action has arranged to work with two local non-religious organizations to hold an all day seminar for the youth at a local university. The overall goal is helping to develop the youth to be leaders in the community.
They have asked Tim to teach one of the seminars. The topic will be about impacting your world, lessons from the life and teachings of Jesus. This will be on October 25th.
Thank you for your emails and your prayers. Some of you have sent us pictures or links to your websites and we really love you for that. It is nice to see your smiling faces.
Pray for patience as we continue to plod along. It is much slower than expected. Pray for wisdom as we carefully allocate the remaining construction funds.
God bless you,
Tim and Kim Mott
