This week has seen a good amount of progress. We let the guys know that we needed to speed things up because we need to get the house done and get on to other things. They have responded well and we are trying to pour the outside crown beam on the second floor today. The weather has made it a bit difficult with rain but we are still hoping to get it done.
Jason left us on Sunday. It was sad to see him go, but he had been here a month (though it did not seem like it), and he was starting to get bored. He was excited about getting to the next stage of his army life in Germany.
He left here Sunday afternoon and then flew out of Managua early Monday morning. He arrived as scheduled Monday evening in Huntsville, AL and left for Germany Wednesday morning. When he got there, they had reassigned him to a different base, about 45 minutes from Schweinfurt. His unit is currently serving in Iraq, but he will remain in Germany for at least a little while more.
Tim's 47th birthday is today and Kim surprised him with a cake down at the house. We had a little extra time to celebrate because of a downpour that lasted over a half hour.
We hope to start on the roof rafters this next week. We are also going to begin painting the metal roofing so it is corrosion protected when we put it up. The salt spray from the ocean tends to accelerate the rusting process on exposed metals. As soon as the roof is on, we plan to put all of our stuff in the second floor and then move into the first floor, whatever state the house may be in. Once we get moved over, we can work evenings on things like painting and tile and speed things up.
God bless you and thank you for your prayers.
