Well, we are finally moved in . . . sort of . . . there is still a lot of work to be done, but we are here now and most of the crews are gone.
We moved all the crates over last Saturday and then all the crates this past Wednesday. The bedroom is the only room that is all completed, but that is a start.
We still have a small crew of two guys working with us, finishing up the steps and the upstairs bath and the tile on the kitchen cabinets.
We have three guys working with us on a lot of other details, like installing windows and doors, completing the electrical work, touching up, painting, yard work etc, etc.
The cafe turned out really nice. We still need to finish the tape and bed on the ceiling and install the hanging lights over the tables andclean up and touch up. We will soon be able to see how God is going to use this very unique place.
We connected the two water tanks and ran three inch pipes from the roof gutters. We had a couple hours of rain over the next 24 hours and it filled the tanks to the top with about 600 gallons of water. We have a smaller tank in the attic that we have not connected to the system yet.
We have started inviting non-churched neighbors to the leadership Bible study on Wednesday nights.
One young man showed up this past week and stayed after to talk with Tim for over an hour about his commitment to Jesus Christ.
This week, Tim will be teaching at the regional encounter - an annual meeting of the Atlantic Coast Baptists. Please pray that God will open the doors of everyone's heart to receive the message. The churches here are dying because of their rigid traditionalism.
Tim has his study partly set up. We still need to build bookshelves, but that will have to wait until the kitchen is complete, so for now, the books are still in boxes.
We are still waiting to get our phone line and internet and we really have no idea when that might come. We don't care much about having a home phone line since we have cell phones, but we really want to have internet. They have the whole city wired for fiber optic, but it is not operational yet.
We look forward to seeing you all soon.
Thank you as always for your prayers.
God bless you,
Tim and Kim |
