It has been exactly a year since we pulled up roots and moved here to Bluefields, Nicaragua. This past year has stretched our faith, our patience and our vision in very good ways.
We began about a year ago with a shell of a house and reinforced and expanded it in to a multifunctional ministry building. Very little went as expected and material costs spiraled by the month, fueled in part by the high cost of oil. We expanded the plans three times and made numerous design changes as we went along.
Cafe and Veranda
 This was not even in our plans when we came here a year ago, but as we got acquainted with the neighborhood and the city, we felt compelled to create a "neutral" place where we could meet people who would never darken the door of a church.
Our location on one of the busiest roads in Bluefields makes this a really nice place. We hope to have fiber optic internet operational soon, so we can offer wireless internet.
All of the internet cafes in Bluefields are all internet and no cafe. We believe that this will be a very unique attraction in this city.
Meeting Room
This is designed for our classes. We wanted to give our students a bright and bold environment with a profesional look.
 We will be offering the BTCP (Bible Training Center for Pastors) curriculum for lay leaders. We will also be teaching in depth Bible studies for churched and unchurched from all backgrounds.
We have talked to a lot of people who do not even go to church, but are interested in studying the Bible with us.
Kim will hold her craft classes in this room, and we will also use it for a myriad of other things including music practice and larger computer classes.
Music and Computer Lab (240 square feet)
We have one room that is dedicated to our music and computer equipment. It is large enough to give music and computer lessons. There is a greater demand for computer training than we could ever meet with this facility, but we want to be able to offer something.
We will not be teaching these classes ourselves. We are looking for locals who are qualified to teach computer, piano, guitar, etc.
Tim's Study
This is located on the rear corner of the building furthest from the street. This provides a quiet place for study in the evenings.
Guest Rooms and Bathroom
These guest rooms will be used for storage when we do not have guests. We really cannot afford to have any unused spaces.
The Shop
 We brought all of Tim's tools here and they have finally found a home in the shop at the front of the house.
We still have a lot of cabinets to make and there is always a favor for the neighbors from time to time.
It provides a nice way to help people and provides an opening to get acquainted.
We have a lot of little details to complete, but our maintenance man will keep working on these tasks as he is able. Tim needs to make a lot of cabinets. It is slow going because the wood is so rough. it has to be dried, straight-edged and planed before it can even be used. It is really quite an experience.
We will be seeing many of you very soon. We will be in the US on January 14th through the 28th.
